Boux Avenue to open store at Manchester Arndale

In this episode we speak to Matt Dalton, consumer sector leader at Forvis Mazars. Matt discussed the biggest challenges facing the retail sector, from cost pressures and wage increases to polarised property markets and geopolitical shocks, and the ways in which retailers can best navigate these. We also explore how short-term cost-cutting could undermine long-term resilience, and how retailers can best remain agile and adaptable in unforecastable times.

Lingerie and nightwear retailer Boux Avenue has signed a 10-year lease to open a store at Manchester Arndale, marking the brand’s first location in the North West.

The London-based company will occupy a 2,765 sq ft unit on New Cannon Street, close to the forthcoming Sephora store.

The store will feature Boux Avenue’s signature fitting experience, including expert bra fittings, private fitting rooms and a full range of lingerie, swimwear and nightwear.

The retailer, which designs its products in London, has built a reputation for “comfort, inclusive sizing and affordability”.

The move brings Boux Avenue’s UK store count to more than 25 and follows recent arrivals at Manchester Arndale by brands including Alo Yoga, Arc’teryx and Represent.

Zoe Price-Smith, chief design and product officer at Boux Avenue, said: “Shoppers in the North West are justifiably famous for their sense of style, so we’re delighted to be bringing Boux Avenue’s signature brand of ‘cute meets sexy’ lingerie, swimwear and nightwear to Manchester Arndale and can’t wait to open our doors later this summer.”

Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, which owns Manchester Arndale, added: “Boux Avenue is a standout name in the UK retail landscape, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Manchester Arndale for their latest location. Their arrival will further enhance our varied mix of fashion and lifestyle brands, and we know our visitors will welcome the addition.”
