Crocs opens at London Designer Outlet

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Crocs has become the latest brand to open at London Designer Outlet (LDO).

The new 1,456 sq ft store has been designed with an elevated layout to create an “inviting atmosphere with bold displays and striking fixtures” which showcase the latest seasonal styles from the footwear brand.

One of the key features of the new store is a dedicated Jibbitz area which “encourages creativity, allowing customers to customise their footwear and express their unique style”.

The new store also displays the ‘Come As You Are’ brand statement in LED lights.

The opening of Crocs comes as LDO continues to see strong spend from a diverse range of shoppers. Shoppers under the age of 44 made up over half of LDO’s total spend during the past year, and the outlet destination has responded through the addition of brands such as Rituals and Miniso.

Daniel Tomkinson, general manager of London Designer Outlet, said: “The opening of Crocs continues the run of globally recognised brands coming to London Designer Outlet. Thanks to our location within one of London’s most vibrant new neighbourhoods, with a diverse multi-generational brand-savvy audience and international students on our doorstep, we expect the Crocs store to perform exceptionally well, and we look forward to working with their team to ensure they thrive at LDO.

“With more exciting new arrivals on the horizon, we are continuing to cement our position as London’s haven for shoppers seeking big savings for on-trend, premium fashion brands.”

LDO is situated in Wembley Park which has a footfall of 16.4 million per year. Managed by Multi-Realm, LDO features 265,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including 70 outlet stores, restaurants, and coffee shops.
