Mango to open 20 new UK stores in 2025

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Mango has announced that it is aiming to open 20 new UK stores in 2025 as part of its 2024-2026 Strategic Plan.

The plan will concentrate in London, with six openings, as well as central England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the arrival in Cardiff.

One of the company’s six openings in London will be a new flagship store on Oxford Street. This store will have a surface of over 1,100m2 and stock products from the Woman, Man and Kids lines.

Mango will also increase its presence in central England, with a store in Birmingham, among others. In Scotland, the company is planning to open new stores in Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen.

In addition, the company will strengthen its network in Northern Ireland with openings in Belfast and Craigavon.

In 2021, the company started its recent expansion plan strengthening its presence with the opening of a flagship store on Oxford Street in London and three other stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and Derby.

A year later, Mango increased its presence in the north with a store in Glasgow Fort, the city’s main shopping and leisure centre.

In 2022, it also opened at the Bluewater shopping centre in Dartford, the fifth largest in the country, as well as at Battersea Power Station in London.

Mango ended 2024 with more than 70 stores in the UK, in addition to its digital presence through its own online channel and other marketplaces.

Daniel López, Mango’s director of expansion and franchising, said: “The UK is one of the priority markets for Mango’s international growth. Our 2025 expansion plan follows the store openings success in 2024 to move forward in capacity and getting even closer to our customers with stores in which we can offer them the Mango experience.”
