Castore opens new Manchester store

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Sportswear brand Castore has announced the opening of its brand-new store in Manchester’s Arndale Centre on 31 October.

Located just off Exchange Court, the new 1,072sq ft space showcases Castore’s men’s and women’s performance sportswear in the heart of the brand’s home city.

The store features Castore’s full range of premium sportswear, including the latest innovations in high-performance apparel for football, golf, and motorsports.

To mark this milestone, the retailer has created a limited-edition line of Manchester themed t-shirts that will be available to purchase in-store. The design, by a local artist, features the Manchester bee, paying homage to the brand’s Mancunian head office base. Castore is donating 100% of the t-shirt sales to local charity, Forever Manchester.

This new opening reflects Castore’s commitment to increasing its retail presence across the UK, and it is on track to have opened 27 stores by the end of the year.

Tom Beahon, co-founder of Castore, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening a Castore store in Manchester, a city that has an incredible buzz and energy. Manchester’s rich history and fantastic talent pool align perfectly with our ambition for continued growth, both as a brand and as a business.

“The city offers the ideal environment for us to innovate and push boundaries, and we’re excited to further strengthen our presence in a place that has been instrumental to our success.”
