Reiss to open new store at Metrocentre

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Reiss has announced that it will open a new location at Metrocentre shopping destination.

The retailer will open a 3,933 sq ft space in Lower Red Mall in mid-November, stocking menswear, womenswear and accessories.

Reiss will join an array of international retailers within this part of the destination, enhancing the prime fashion offer close to the likes of Zara, Flannels, and Levi’s

The news follows a series of retail announcements for Metrocentre in recent months. The Red Mall has recently welcomed Spanish fashion brand Mango as well as a comprehensive refurbishment of River Island’s 25,000 sq ft store currently being underway.

Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, Asset Managers of Metrocentre, said: “This signing is the latest demonstration of the progression of Red Mall in the last couple of years, a true home to international fashion brands. We’re delighted to welcome Reiss to Metrocentre as they add greater choice and premium quality to the most compelling fashion offer in the region.”
