Castore opens new site at Centre:mk

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Sportswear brand Castore has announced its regional debut into Milton Keynes with the launch of its new store at Centre:mk.

Set to open on Silbury Arcade in late June, Castore’s 865 sq ft location will be one of the brand’s first new store concepts designed by Ink Associates.

The centre:mk regional flagship will showcase Castore’s full mainline range across its menswear, womenswear, and junior collections, alongside selected teamwear for McLaren Racing and Oracle Red Bull Racing (ORBR).

Castore has recently announced its collaboration with Umbro to have exclusive rights to work with their existing English Premier League team partnerships, adding to Castore’s current list of athletes, teams, and brands including; England cricket, Andy Murray, Newcastle FC, and local team, Milton Keynes Dons.

Tom Beahon, co-founder of Castore, said: “Castore was created to bring a new level of performance to both men’s and women’s sportswear. Our philosophy of Better Never Stops extends to where we choose to locate our flagship stores.

“As the dominant pitch in the region, paired with our ties to Milton Keynes’ racing and football teams, centre:mk was the ideal destination to launch Castore in the South East and we look forward to opening our doors this summer.”

Kevin Duffy, centre:mk’s centre director, added: “Pushing the boundaries in sportswear innovation, Castore is a natural addition to centre:mk’s city-centre location situated in one of the fastest growing and most innovative cities in the country.

“We consistently outperform national benchmarks and are home to an exceptional line-up of anchor brands, including John Lewis & Partners, H beauty, and M&S, just one of the many reasons centre:mk is a top 10 retail destination.”
