Mint Velvet to open new store at centre:mk

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

British womenswear brand Mint Velvet has announced it will open a key regional store at centre:mk in Milton Keynes

Set to open this Summer, Mint Velvet’s 2,800 sq ft debut store will be located on centre:mk’s premium Silbury Arcade and will stock a full collection of their womenswear, footwear and accessories.

Founded in 2009, Mint Velvet has accumulated a steadfast following for their philosophy of “relaxed glamour, fusing comfort with luxurious yet wearable fashion trends”.

Mint Velvet centre:mk will be designed by London based design studio, StudioJill, bringing to life the brand’s seasonal womenswear apparel, footwear and accessory collections.

Encompassing 107 stores and luxury concessions across the UK, Mint Velvet continues to focus its expansion on premium retail destinations. The new centre:mk store set to open on Silbury Arcade, will join leading retail brands such as Rriss, Jigsaw, The White Company and H beauty.

Kevin Duffy, centre:mk’s centre director, said: “Mint Velvet’s philosophy of effortless luxury and relaxed glamour perfectly complements the premium line-up of retailers we have curated on Silbury Arcade, each speaking to our affluent customer base and their needs. To be the destination of choice for a city debut store in Milton Keynes from a top performing brand is a real mark of confidence and reaffirms our position as a top 10 retail destination in the UK.”
