On this episode i'm joined by Florian Clemens, Strategy and Proposition Director at Tesco Media, to unpack how retail media is evolving at speed — and what Tesco Media’s role looks like inside the wider Tesco ecosystem. We explore the “win-win-win” promise for shoppers, brands and retailers, the power of contextual relevance, and why Tesco calls its offering “video, reimagined.” Plus, we’ll look ahead to GenAI creativity, automation, and what brands should do now to prepare for retail media’s next phase.

Former chancellor Nadhim Zahawi is reportedly in talks with The Very Group regarding the possibility of becoming its new chair, according to Sky News.

The MP for Stratford-upon-Avon is believed to be among the candidates that could become the next chairman for the online retailer.

City sources told Sky News that discussions were ongoing but there is no certainty that Zahawi will take the role.

If he accepts the role, he would be expected to announce that he is joining a mass exodus of political party’s MPs who are stepping down at the upcoming general election.

The MP has been acting as an intermediary between the Barclay family and Abu Dhabi-based investor IMI Investments since its interest in making a bid for The Daily Telegraph, which is owned by the family.

The news comes as last month The Very Group announced that its chair Dirk Van den Berghe was stepping down after two years.

Aidan Barcley is currently acting as interim chair.
