On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Amazon’s fashion arm, Luxury Stores at Amazon In Europe, has announced its collaboration with resale platform Hardly Ever Worn It, offering an assortment of pre-owned items from “coveted” luxury brands.

Customers in the UK, Germany, Spain and Italy can now browse pre-owned (but never or ‘hardly ever’ worn), designer items across women’s ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories, jewellery and watches from coveted luxury brands.

The collaboration with Luxury Stores at Amazon in Europe allows Hardly Ever Worn It to deliver its luxury resale offering to an even wider audience, giving customers “a new way to shop that meets their evolving taste and interest in pre-owned luxury goods”.

The introduction of pre-owned goods on Luxury Stores at Amazon in Europe comes with a “meticulous” pre-screening process designed by Hardly Ever Worn It, ensuring the “highest quality” of each item.

Since unveiling Luxury Stores at Amazon in Europe, Amazon Fashion has expanded its offering to include a diverse range of local and global brands across fashion and beauty, and is constantly exploring new and exciting ways to redefine the luxury shopping experience for customers across Europe.

According to Amazon Fashion, the latest collaboration with Hardly Ever Worn It offers European customers the opportunity to explore second-hand luxury, and allows them to help contribute to a more circular future.

Ruth Diaz, VP, Amazon Fashion Europe, said: “We’re thrilled to expand our luxury offering with Hardly Ever Worn It this year, to include more of our customers’ favourite brands and styles. We’re always looking to innovate and engage with our diverse customers, and launching pre-owned goods allows us to do just that, whilst also creating an opportunity for us to offer our customers accessible luxury.”

Tatiana Wolter Ferguson, CEO, Hardly Ever Worn It, added: “Hardly Ever Worn It launching on Luxury Stores at Amazon, marks a new level of visibility for luxury resale. Our collaboration with Amazon is a testament to our commitment to making high-end circular fashion accessible to a diverse and wide-reaching audience. By joining one of the world’s most trusted market places, we are able to bring this to fruition, enabling more people to experience the joy of resale.”
