Independent department store Sandersons has recently appointed Louise Fearnehough as head of buying.
Fearnehough joined the company seven years ago and during that time has worked in the beauty department, headed the fragrance team and two years ago was promoted to running the company’s flagship store at Fox Valley in north Sheffield. Her extensive knowledge of the retail industry includes previous roles at both John Lewis and Debenhams.
In her new role, she will be responsible for the buying strategy for all three bricks and mortar stores which are at Fox Valley, Five Valleys in Stroud and Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth as well as the Sandersons online platform which has grown into a multi-million pound business over the last four years.
Regarding her appointment, Fearnehough said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be heading up the buying department at Sandersons. I have a deep understanding of our customers in our different locations and have participated in the opening of new stores and the growth of the business. Sandersons reputation has grown significantly and we are known for our beautiful stores with amazing brands which have been curated over the years by the owners.
“We are a growing business and this role is a fantastic opportunity for me and I am looking forward to working alongside the Directors to take the company to the next level. We have amazing store and online customers, with a keen focus on always providing beautiful products with exceptional customer service.”
Megan Oldfield, who has been with the company for two years, has also been promoted to assistant buyer working alongside Fearnehough.
Oldfield said: “I am really proud to be taking on this new role and to be part of the Sandersons journey.”
Sandersons Boutique co-founder and director, Mark Dransfield DL, said: “Louise has been an important part of the Sandersons team for several years and has great instincts for our brand and its customers. We are really pleased that she will now be taking our buying department forward.”
