On this episode of Talking Shop I am joined by Zipline CEO and co-founder Melissa Wong. We discuss how Melissa’s 10 years’ of frontline experience informed her approach to building a SaaS company, the recurring operational frustrations that most head offices still underestimate, and why she believes technology should be designed with the store associate as the primary user. We also explore current trends in store execution and how retailers can bridge the gap between corporate strategy and the shop floor.

Shoezone will launch a brand new, relocated store in Bury on 20 May, officially opening at The Rock, Unit E. 05.

The new store, which will be open from 9am until 7pm Monday and Saturday and 10:30am until 4:30pm on Sundays, will offer opening offers, as the brand will also launch ‘big summer savings’ in the following weeks.

The Bury Shoezone will stock a selection of its own brands, as well as a range of name-brands popular with online shoppers, such as Lotus, Heavenly Feet and Lunar.

The new opening will also bring a new job position to the area, as the brand will be expanding its Bury team with one part-time position along with extra hours for the current team.

Shoezone is a town centre, retail park and digital footwear retailer that operates from 360 stores with approximately 2,650 employees across the UK.

During an average year, the company sells 14.5 million pairs of shoes at an average retail price of £12.50.

Anthony Smith, chief executive of Shoezone, said: “We’re looking forward to opening this new Shoezone store in Bury, widening the selection of styles for our customers, and making both branded and our own brand styles more easily accessible to them.”
