Frasers Group considers sale of Pretty Green

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Frasers Group is recently considering selling Liam Gallagher’s fashion brand Pretty Green, Drapers has revealed.

The company was part of the brands acquired by Frasers from JD Sports in December 2022. The other brands part of the acquisition included Base Childrenswear, Choice, Clothingsites, Cricket, Giulio, Kids Cavern, Missy Empire, Nicholas Deakins, Scotts, Tessuti (including Xile), Watch Shop and Topgrade Sportswear (including Get the Label).

Pretty Green was initially founded by Gallagher and Nigel Grant in 2009. It was subsequently bought out of administration by JD Sports in 2019.

Earlier this month, Drapers also reported that Base Childrenswear, Choice and Giulio will be forced to close in a rebrand to Frasers Group fascia Flannels.

Frasers Group has been contacted for comment.
