Bensons for Beds saw like-for-like sales rise 7% for the last three months of 2022, compared to the same period the previous year.

The group has attributed its performance to its investment in its stores and online platform, following leadership changes made in the summer.

Across the quarter, the retailer also saw a 41% growth in online sales, with digital transactions running at double pre-pandemic levels.

In addition, the business experienced its peak trading period at the start of Boxing Day, as sales continued in line with trends seen over the Christmas quarter.

During the year, the group made a series of changes to its senior leadership team, which included the appointment of Nick Collard as chief executive in June 2022.

Nick Collard, CEO of Bensons for Beds, said: “Our performance over the quarter provides a good indication that our investments across the business are beginning to bear fruit. We have made big steps towards our goal of becoming a market leading omnichannel retailer reflected in the rise in sales at an important time of the year.

“Although we expect the market to remain challenging, we remain well placed to navigate the year ahead. I’d like to thank the dedication and hard work of all our colleagues as we continue to transform the business as we invest online, in stores and in our ranges.”
