Mattress Online is set to open its first fully branded store as part of its plans to expand into bricks and mortar trading.
Having acquired the Skipton Bed and Sofa Centre earlier this year, the group has now added the site of Sheffield bed outlet, Eades and Co, to its portfolio.
It comes as Mattress Online said it aims to acquire and roll out 10 physical stores over the next five years, in a move to mix its customer experience and “quick turnaround times” with the traditional in-store experience.
Mattress Online’s first fully branded store will open at Alderson Road, Sheffield on 12 August.
Steve Adams, Mattress Online CEO, said: “It is really exciting to be launching our very first branded store here in South Yorkshire, increasing our footprint as a business and creating new jobs locally.
“This omnichannel approach blends our product selection, high level of service and seamless delivery model with a personalised face-to-face service, strengthening our brand in the north of England.”
He added: “As customer needs and behaviours change, companies need to be able to change with them and as a fast-growing tech-driven company, we are always looking to innovate and try new approaches.
“Our physical stores offer the best of both worlds and we’re looking forward to welcoming customers into our new premises which is just a goal-kick from Bramall Lane.”
He was supported by a team of Yorkshire advisers from Leeds law firm Clarion’s corporate practice.
Lucy Storey from Clarion’s real estate team, said: “Mattress Online is a well-established business with a clear vision and strategy for continued success. Its ambitious buy and build programme provides customers with the best offering, adding physical stores to its digital presence, and we look forward to continuing to support its expansion.”
