Superdrug expands same day delivery service to Scotland

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Superdrug has expanded its same-day, ‘Store to Door’, courier service to customers in Scotland, now available to those within approximately a five mile radius of nine Scottish Superdrug stores within the Glasgow and Edinburgh regions.

The service allows shoppers to order products directly from their local store. Powered by delivery specialists Stuart, products will be delivered within two hours, with capped prices based on location.

Overall, delivery will be available from £5.40, within a radius of 1.5 miles from the chosen store.

The service, which initially launched in 2021 to allow customers to access products through the Covid-19 pandemic, has seen over 10,000 deliveries completed since launch.

Matt Walburn, ecommerce, customer and marketing director at Superdrug, said: “We are so pleased to be able to expand the rapid same day delivery service to our Scottish customers. Fulfilled by our incredible store teams and delivered by our partner Stuart, the service fits brilliantly alongside our market leading 30-minute Order and Collect in store offering.”

Brendan Hamill, UK general manager at Stuart, added: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Superdrug to ensure that Scottish consumers are able to benefit from our joint same day delivery proposition – catering to their everyday needs and ensuring that they have a quick and reliable service at their fingertips.”
