Travis Perkins acquires new site for flagship branch

On the final episode of season three we sit down with Claire Watkin, CEO of The Fine Bedding Company, a fourth-generation business founded in 1912. She shares how the brand has performed in recent years and what its proposition really stands for today. We explore balancing heritage with innovation, building sustainability into products and operations, and the journey to a zero-waste eco-factory in Estonia. Claire also unpacks earning consumer trust, making the investment case, and her advice to the next generation of leaders.

Travis Perkins has announced that it has acquired the former Motus Commercials site in the St Philips area of Bristol in a multimillion-pound deal for the creation of a new flagship branch.

The site which was brokered by NG Chartered Surveyors, has been transformed into a new 20,000 sq ft stronghold.

The company, advised by Alder King, purchased the freehold of the 2.7 acre site on Days Road.

Will Moss of Travis Perkins said: “The acquisition of this site is an important opportunity to further strengthen our network of branches across Bristol, with the site occupying a high profile location in a well-established trade counter area. We hope to have this new branch open for trade by early 2022.”

Sunny Landa, director at NG Chartered Surveyors, added: “This has been a very satisfying deal for our client, with Travis Perkins stepping in quickly to secure a prime site in the centre of Bristol.

“Motus have now relocated to a new site in Avonmouth which better suits their requirements, so this has been a win-win transaction from start to finish. I wish Motus and Travis Perkins all the best in their new sites.”
