Sainsbury’s has unveiled its new look Leeds Colton supermarket following “months of refurbishment”.

As part of the renovation work, the site has seen a new Argos, refurbished beauty department, patisserie counter and cafe created on site.

In addition, the store’s chilled refrigeration cabinets and supporting infrastructure were also completely replaced to “improve efficiency” and “save energy”.

Sainsbury’s has said its renovated Leeds store will also benefit from a new “market-style” produce department by the entrance, as well as a new ‘Groceries Online’ facility, which will enable the store to increase online delivery capacity in the local area.

Customers can also now choose to click and collect orders at the new covered collection point in the car park.

Patrick Dunne, property director at Sainsbury’s, said: “This extensive renovation at our Leeds Colton store is another great example of how we are putting food back at the heart of Sainsbury’s in a way that greatly improves the shopping experience for our customers and our colleagues.

“The Colton store has served the local community for over 26 years and we have made every effort to ensure this investment will enable it to continue doing so for many years to come.”

He added: “This store provides colleagues and customers with a safe and convenient refreshed shopping destination and we have invested in the latest technology to reduce our energy consumption and do our part for the environment.”
