Game to reopen stores across England and Northern Ireland

Game has announced plans to reopen all stores across England and Northern Ireland from Monday 15 June, in line with the latest Government guidance.

The video game retailer said all stores in Wales and Scotland are ready to re-open, but will remain closed until current guidelines are lifted.

Game is also encouraging people to use its click and collect service, as the number of customers allowed in store will be limited.

However, whilst stores are opening, the retailer’s Belong Arenas will remain closed for the time being, with a view to reopen once Government Guidelines allow for it.

Earlier this year, Game revealed plans to shutter 40 of its stores throughout the UK.

A spokesperson for Game said at the time: “We are working closely with landlords throughout the UK to ensure that we do not have to vacate the 40 locations which could lead to a number of job losses.

“However, we are facing a challenging retail market and Game with its extensive retail footprint, needs to restructure and landlords need to work with us in setting realistic, fair rents.”
