The White Company profits jump 26% in FY results

The White Company has reported a 26% increase in profits to £14.4m for in its full year results to 3 August 2019.

The group also reported a 21% increase to £13.6m for its published group operating profit for the 70 week period, compared with £11.2m last year.

Group turnover increased by 7% to £217.4m amid “good growth” in UK sales and web channels as well as an expansion of international operations.

During the period, The White Company opened one new store and one concession and also re-sited one other store. 

It also opened its second site in Ireland, resulting in 48 UK stores, nine concessions, two stores based in the US and two stores in Ireland.

Mary Homer, chief executive officer said she is “pleased” to announce the continued growth in both revenue and profit for the company.

She added: “In the context of the turbulent retail environment, growth has come

from all channels, with positive LFLs in retail being particularly encouraging. We have also made further strides internationally in line with our strategy. 

“The investments we made in infrastructure, IT and moving to new headquarters have been instrumental in our growth. The performance of this current year is stable, which is encouraging in the current retail climate.”
