Holland and Barrett becomes first UK retailer to stock cannabis oil

Health food chain Holland and Barrett has become the first UK retailer to stock cannabis oil after a surge in demand.

According to Cannabis Trades Association UK, the number of people using Cannabidiol has risen from 125,000 to 250,000 since February 2017.

Jacob Hooy CBD+Oil sells for £19.99 and Holland and Barrett has seen sales go up by 37% since it began stocking it.

The legal product does not produce a high and has less than than 0.2% of the psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol in it.

Cannabidiol is said to help with anxiety, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, joint pain and depression.

In a statement Holland and Barrett said: “We have been surprised at the success and popularity of CBD oil since its launch. We are constantly looking to bring new and innovative products to market that help our customers. It is great to see in this instance that we can help with the demand.”
