The independent non-executive director will not seek re-election at the group’s 2027 annual general meeting

On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Independent non-executive director at ASOS, Christine Cross, has announced she will not seek re-election at the company’s next annual general meeting in early 2027.

Cross, who has served as chair of the remuneration committee and as an audit committee member since April 2024, said she is stepping down to focus on other personal and professional commitments.

The online fashion retailer has started its succession planning process to recruit a new independent non-executive director to chair the remuneration committee. ASOS said it will announce a successor in due course.

ASOS chair Natasja Laheij said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Christine for her significant contribution to the company during her tenure.

“She has played an important role in re-shaping the company’s executive remuneration and has been a valued member of the board. We respect Christine’s decision not to seek re-election and wish her all the best for the future.”

Cross added: “It has been a privilege to serve on the board of ASOS. I am proud of what we have achieved during my time with the company and wish the board and management continued success.”
