Korean beauty retailer Pure Seoul has announced that it opened three new stores in 2025 after securing a £4.1m funding deal with HSBC UK.
The expansion includes a flagship multi-storey store on London’s Carnaby Street and new outlets in Cambridge and Westfield Stratford. The company said the investment will also support IT upgrades, including new inventory management systems, to help scale operations.
Pure Seoul, which began as an e-commerce platform in 2019, now operates nine stores across the UK. It expects the latest expansion to create up to 100 jobs in customer service and warehouse roles, and forecasts a 90% increase in turnover over the next year.
Leslie Tang, chief executive of Pure Seoul, said: “Since opening our first physical store in 2022, Pureseoul has grown more than 500% year-on-year, transforming from a niche online destination to the UK’s largest and most established K-beauty curator.
“We’re grateful to HSBC UK and their dedicated team for the support as we continue to build momentum, marked most recently by the opening of our Carnaby flagship – a milestone moment for Pureseoul and the UK beauty retail market.”
Founded to address a lack of access to Korean cosmetics in the UK, Pureseoul said it plans to open additional stores before the end of the year.
