Aldi named most popular supermarket
It comes after Aldi was named by Which? as the UKโs Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2023,having also won the accolade in 2022 and 2021
Aldi has recently been named as the nationโs most popular supermarket, according to new polling data for Q4 2023 from YouGov.
In the poll, Aldi maintained its position at the top, ranking ahead of its traditional Big Four rivals, as well as M&S and fellow discounter Lidl.ย
It comes after Aldi was named by Which? as the UKโs Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2023,having also won the accolade in 2022 and 2021.
Britainโs fourth-largest supermarket was also named the UKโs Cheapest Supermarket of the month for December by Which?. A basket of 43 everyday items cost ยฃ10.38 โ or 14% โ more at the average Big Four supermarket than at Aldi, while this was 27% more at the most expensive supermarket, Waitrose.
In 2023, Aldi also attracted more than half a million additional customers and saw customers switch spending from every major UK supermarket, including Tesco, Sainsburyโs, M&S and Lidl, to Aldi.
