Sosandar appoints new non-exec chairman

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Sosandar has announced the appointment of Nick Mustoe as non-executive chairman.

Mustoe has been interim non-executive chairman since 16 March 2023.

In addition, the company has announced that Jon Wragg, independent non-executive director, has notified the board of his intention to step down in order to focus on other commitments, and, with the company’s agreement, has done so with immediate effect.

Regarding his appointment Mustoe said: “I am delighted to be appointed as permanent chair of Sosandar. We are at a very exciting moment in our growth journey as we take Sosandar’s unique product to more people across the globe through multiple channels.

“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Jon for his contribution to the company since he joined the board, he has provided sound counsel and advice throughout. We wish Jon all the very best.”
