The British bedding and lifestyle brand, Piglet in Bed, has opened its first store in Harrogate this December.

The retailer, which is known for its 100% linen bedding and other natural homewares, has been running as an ecommerce-only business since it was founded in West Sussex in 2017.

The store in Harrogate is located on James Street and opened this past weekend, offering a mix of its linen and cotton bedding collections, sleepwear, and other natural homewares.

In addition, the Harrogate store will also be stocking some smaller, giftable pieces including Christmas decorations, alpaca wool socks, its scented candles and diffuser collection, as well as a range of merino wool Christmas stockings that are made in the UK.

Jessica Hanley, founder and CEO of Piglet in Bed, said: “This is a real landmark moment for us as a business. For the last seven years, since we launched Piglet in Bed, we have let ourselves dream about what our first shop could look like and now the day is finally here and we are so excited that it is in Harrogate!

“We couldn’t be more proud of how it has come together and we can’t wait to have the chance to interact with our customers in person.”

Rhiannon Johns, head of brand at Piglet in Bed, added: “We love the feel of the town, there are plenty of cool independents that we’re excited to collaborate with, great places to eat and beautiful surroundings. The position on James Street is ideal being at the very centre of the hustle and bustle.

“We believe Harrogate will be a place for establishing regular customers but also raising brand awareness from the many visitors that come here.”

Piglet in Bed will also be opening its second store in Bath in January 2024.
