Naked Wines has announced Rodrigo Maza as its new managing director for its UK business.

Maza joins from AB InBev where he was most recently expansion markets managing director. He also spent over 17 years at Mexican brewery Grupo Modelo, rising to the position of sales execution manager.

He succeeds James Crawford who was appointed as Group CFO earlier this year.

Announcing the appointment on Linkedin, Naked Wines CEO Nick Devlin said he was impressed with Maza’s “track record of customer focus and ability to drive innovation”.

He said: “I’m really excited to be formally introducing Rodrigo Maza as our new MD for our UK business Naked Wines.

Rodrigo Maza is taking a step across from the world of beer into the world of wine and it’s already been exciting to see his vision, charisma and passion show up as he has been getting to know our team, our angels and of course our wines!

I firmly believe that many more UK wine drinkers should be discovering the benefits of drinking independent and what stood out in the hiring process to me was Maza’s track record of customer focus and ability to drive innovation. I can’t wait to see that at play Naked Wines. Welcome to the team!”
