Frasers Group has submitted a planning application for a new global HQ campus in Rugby, Warwickshire.

If approved, the headquarters is projected to create 7,500 jobs and create £300m in GVA for the region.

Architects firm Grimshaw, which designed the Eden Project, London’s Excel Phase II and the Lloyds Banking Group headquarters, has also speculatively designed Frasers’ Rugby headquarters.

The campus would include logistics space, offices, R&D retail, a hotel and leisure facilities. A gym and bookable courts and pitches are also planned and would be open to the public.

The retail group includes Sports Direct, Flannels, Frasers, USC, and Everlast. Its current headquarters are in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.

According to Frasers, the newly-submitted proposal for a new HQ will support the growth of the business. However, a decision “has not been made” on the future of the Shirebrook offices.

A spokesperson for Frasers Group said: “We have worked closely with local partners to develop proposals for a global headquarters campus at Ansty. This would deliver a well-located, world-class platform to further bolster our elevation strategy, sector-leading ecosystem and growth ambitions.

“A planning application has now been submitted and we will continue to work with our partners through the planning process.”
