Burberry opens refurbished Bond Street store

On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Burberry has announced the anticipated reopening of its global flagship store on New Bond Street, London.

Located at 21-23 New Bond Street, the iconic destination reinforces Burberry’s position as the modern British luxury brand.

An evolution of its store concept, the flagship is home to an immersive shopping experience, offering womenswear, menswear, eyewear, shoes, and accessories with a stronger focus on leather goods, and a new VIP area.

The minimalist interior is punctuated with an eclectic mix of contemporary furniture, creating a stripped-back setting designed to spotlight key Burberry pieces.

Overhead lighting has been crafted to replicate the iconic Burberry Check, a pattern introduced in the 1920s, referencing the brand’s rich heritage.

Jonathan Akeroyd, chief executive officer, Burberry, said: “We are excited to open the doors of our newly refurbished flagship store on New Bond Street in one of London and the UK’s premier luxury shopping destinations. The store showcases our beautifully crafted products in a luxury setting that connects our customers with our brand and unique heritage.

“We look forward to welcoming back our local and international clients to our new home and unveiling Daniel’s collection when it arrives in store in September.”
