Conair appoints new UK&I manager

On this episode of Talking Shop I’m joined by Alain Bejjani—former Group CEO of Middle East retail giant Majid Al Futtaim, and author of the definitive new book, NEXT: Leading Through the New Realities. Drawing on his childhood in war-torn Beirut, and his experience steering a $9.5bn dollar retail and lifestyle empire through a global pandemic, Alain brings an unmatched perspective on leadership under pressure. Today, we break down his crisis survival playbook for retailers operating in distress. We discuss why resilience must always outpace efficiency, the four assets a brand must protect at all costs, and how to turn macro-turmoil into a long-term direction that scales.

Personal care and home appliance company, Conair, has announced the appointment of Mark Tyers as its new country manager for the UK and Ireland

He will report to Alban Wilson, the senior vice president of EMEA sales, who has been with the company for 20 years.

In his new role, Tyers will spearhead the strategic development and growth of brands BaByliss, BaByliss Pro and Cuisinart.

He brings over two decades of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) experience across various categories, having previously served at Henkel.

Ian Nuttall, president of EMEA at Conair, said: “Mark joins us at an exciting and pivotal time in our trajectory. He brings a fresh and dynamic approach to our sales and marketing operations in the UK and Ireland, and has ambitious plans to drive our growth in this region.

“I know our brands will benefit greatly from his knowledge and experience.”

Tyers added: “I’m very excited to join the business and strongly believe in Conair’s vision, people, and ability to deliver innovative, high quality products to its customers.

“I’m excited to work alongside Ian, Alban and the rest of the team to drive substantial growth in the UK and Ireland.”
