Amazon has announced its aim to recruit 20,000 seasonal positions across the UK for the festive season.

The firm has said its seasonal roles are in addition to the 55,000 permanent employees Amazon has in the UK, offering “competitive” wages and benefits.

This year already, Amazon revealed it has created 10,000 new permanent jobs across the UK.

According to Amazon, successful employees are set to take “virtual tours” to see what it’s like to work behind the scenes, with positions set to include fulfilment centres, sortation centres and delivery stations.

The firm has said pay for operations roles is set between £10.00 ph and £11.10 ph in some parts of the UK for all full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal roles.

Nada Baki, Preston delivery station manager at Amazon where it is seeking to fill 100 new roles, said: “ Our seasonal associates play an integral role in helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our customers. We look forward to welcoming back seasonal workers who return year-after-year to Amazon and to welcome new faces to the team.”
