Kate Spade to open new store at The O2

Kate Spade to open new store at The O2

On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Lifestyle brand Kate Spade New York will open a new 2,408 sq ft store at the Outlet Shopping at The O2 this Spring.

Located on the outlet’s upper level, the store will mark the brand’s London outlet debut while being inspired by elements of both uptown and downtown New York, the brand’s hometown.

The store will allow customers to discover the brand’s latest seasonal and gifting collections, Kate Spade New York’s Spring collection, and will spotlight the Maddison collection. Product categories, including handbags, small leather goods, accessories, jewellery, footwear, ready-to-wear and more, are showcased in the stand-alone store for customers to explore.

This news follows The O2’s record-breaking 2024, with the destination welcoming over 10 million visitors and excelling across sales and footfall. Over 31,000 sq ft of new retail was added to the scheme, with sales up 6% compared to 2023.

Louisa Dalgleish, leasing director at Outlet Shopping at The O2, said: “Kate Spade New York signing for its London outlet debut at The O2 follows a remarkable 2024, and is a clear indicator that The O2 remains the go-to place for outlet debuts in the capital.

“They are the perfect addition to our premium retail offer and provide customers with yet another reason to visit us.”
