On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Reiss, the premium international fashion brand, has opened its brand-new store and key regional site in centre:mk, one of the UK’s top ten retail and leisure destinations.

The 1,884 sq. ft. store, situated on centre:mk’s premium Silbury Arcade, features Reiss’ attainable-luxury collection of modern menswear, womenswear, accessories, and childrenswear.

Fitted out with a minimalistic interior of bleached wood and metallic fixtures, Reiss centre:mk displays the brand’s range of contemporary styles in an equally sleek and elegant location.

Co-designed by Reiss’ creative director James Spreckley and D-Raw Architects, the store reflects the brand’s reputation as a modern fashion house, featuring sustainable materials and design. This sustainability-minded approach is mirrored by the destination’s track record in providing sustainable solutions and implementing green initiatives.

The opening follows the recent news that Mango, one of Europe’s leading fashion groups, has launched its latest flagship location at centre:mk, exclusively distributing the Mango woman collection across a selling space of over 4,693 sq. ft.

Kevin Duffy, centre:mk’s centre director, said: “Continually outperforming benchmarks for footfall and conversion to sales, and with one of the strongest anchor brand line-ups in the UK, centre:mk continues to prove to be a destination of choice for leading UK and international brands. Reiss’ decision to launch a key regional store at centre:mk reflects our reputation as a dominant destination in the UK.”
