Moncler Group considers in house distribution for Stone Island

On the final episode of season three we sit down with Claire Watkin, CEO of The Fine Bedding Company, a fourth-generation business founded in 1912. She shares how the brand has performed in recent years and what its proposition really stands for today. We explore balancing heritage with innovation, building sustainability into products and operations, and the journey to a zero-waste eco-factory in Estonia. Claire also unpacks earning consumer trust, making the investment case, and her advice to the next generation of leaders.

Owner and operator of Stone Island, The Moncler Group, is considering taking the brand’s UK distribution in house, Drapers has reported.

The news comes as several industry sources have reportedly indicated that the group, which acquired Stone Island in 2020, is thinking about taking the brand’s UK distribution in house next year.

This decision would end the brand’s partnership with Four Marketing, the Frasers Group-backed brand agency, which has been in charge of Stone Island’s UK distribution since the early 2000s.

In addition, Four Marketing also runs the brand’s London flagship store on 79 Brewer Street.

Founded in 1997 by Dominique Signoret, Gino Da’Prato, Ben Banks and Charles Perez, Four Marketing represents and distributes brands including CP Company, outerwear brand Arctic Army, Italian label Jacob Cohën and Japanese premium denim brand Evisu.

Frasers Group owns 49% of Four Marketing, while Da’Prato, Banks and Perez each hold a stake of 16.9% in the business, with a combined majority of 50.7%.

Four Marketing, Frasers Group, Stone Island and The Moncler Group did not respond to Drapers’ requests for comment.
