Online bathroom retailer Victoria Plum has announced a partnership with Just One Tree to plant thousands of trees over the next 12 months.

Each pound donated will fund the planting of one tree, as well as supporting the Barnet-based charity’s oceans project initiatives, which target mangrove and kelp regeneration.

The donations also enable environmental education, while funding reforestation organisations in Madagascar, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique, and Nepal.

Employees’ birthday, wedding, or Christmas gifts from the business will now be switched to trees planted, with one tree already donated for each of its 400 employees.

Paul McClenaghan, chief executive at Victoria Plum, said: “Environmental concerns continue to dominate the narrative across the globe. It is a topic close to the hearts of many of our colleagues at Victoria Plum, so I am very pleased to launch this partnership.

“Just One Tree is doing phenomenal work facilitating action within schools and business and making a real difference to people’s lives and the environment.”

He added: “We are proud to support such an important initiative and play our part in the fight against climate change by enabling the planting of thousands of trees, helping restore the oceans and assisting the provision of continued education on the environment.”

Amanda Bronkhorst, founder of the charity, said: “To have a business such as Victoria Plum supporting us is fantastic.

“Just One Tree is a collective of individuals, schools and businesses all coming together to have the greatest impact, so we are thrilled to have an organisation such as Victoria Plum join with us. We look forward to a long and successful partnership together.”
