Majestic Wines has unveiled a specially curated range of more than 50 wines, champagnes and spirits, available to order on the Deliveroo app.
The retailer revealed items are priced the same as in Majestic stores.
Ajay Lakhwani, vice president of New Business, Deliveroo said: “We are delighted to announce this major expansion with Majestic Wine, the UK’s leading specialist in wine, and play our role in making sure households have access to everything they need and want during Covid-19.
“The roll-out of Majestic Wine on Deliveroo across 80 sites in the UK is great news for our customers across the country, who can now enjoy an even wider choice of delicious wine, delivered in as little as under 30 minutes.”
Robert Cooke, Majestic’s chief commercial officer, added: “Wine is something which continues to provide joy and discovery within your own walls, even in the face of Covid-19. We are always looking for new ways to help our customers keep making those discoveries whilst in lockdown and beyond, as safely and interactively as possible.
“With Majestic’s unbeatable expertise and range, alongside the fantastic service Deliveroo offer, winelovers from Exeter to Glasgow can get brilliant bottles direct to their homes – in as little as under 30 minutes.”
Cooke concluded: “Wine has never been so popular in the UK, we’re now officially a nation of oenophiles, and working together with Deliveroo we want to make that perfect glass as accessible as possible.”
The news comes as Aldi announced it has teamed up with Deliveroo on trailing an on-demand grocery home delivery service in the UK.
Customers will be able to order over 150 Aldi products through the Deliveroo app, which will be picked and packed by Aldi colleagues in-store, for delivery via Deliveroo’s network of riders.
