On the final episode of season three we sit down with Claire Watkin, CEO of The Fine Bedding Company, a fourth-generation business founded in 1912. She shares how the brand has performed in recent years and what its proposition really stands for today. We explore balancing heritage with innovation, building sustainability into products and operations, and the journey to a zero-waste eco-factory in Estonia. Claire also unpacks earning consumer trust, making the investment case, and her advice to the next generation of leaders.

Online electricals retailer AO is opening its third warehouse in four months.

The Stoke-on-Trent site will add 275,000 square feet of warehouse space to their distribution portfolio.

AO’s fifth warehouse in total will also create 120 new jobs in the Staffordshire area, part of the company’s nationwide recruitment drive of over 650 jobs.

David Ashwell, managing director of AO’s logistics department, said: “By actively securing more warehousing space and creating hundreds of new, quality jobs in the process, we’re working hard to invest in the future.”

The site at G-Park, an industrial estate, will be used for distribution to AO’s 18 local hub depots nationwide. It also uses rainwater harvesting to reduce water usage as part of the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Ashwell added: “With our latest distribution sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford, we’ve now established a strong logistics hub in the North West.

“Expanding our logistics network is a crucial step in our growth strategy, so we can continue to serve customers when they need us the most. We’ve really had to act quickly to adapt to an influx in customers following the Covid-19 lockdown.”
