Video game retailer Game has announced the resignation of its chief financial officer Mark Gifford.

Gifford informed the board of his intention to leave so that he can focus on his other business and personal interests. An executive search has commenced to identify a suitable successor to his position.

Commenting on his departure, Gifford said: “The business has achieved a great deal in the last two years and I have enjoyed being a part of the management team at Game.

“I shall be working with the company to ensure a smooth and effective transition as the group continues to drive its competitive gaming and esports strategy. I would like to wish Game and all of the team the very best for the future.”

Gibbs said: “I would like to thank Mark for the significant contribution he has made to our business. Mark has worked incredibly hard to create a solid platform, from which we are transforming Game.

“All of the team would like to take this opportunity to wish him the very best for the future.”
