Merry Hill has completed lettings across its retail park with the opening of new stores from B&Q, Costa Coffee and Bensons for Beds, introducing 33,800 sq ft of additional space as part of a wider refurbishment of the now fully let site.

The new 23,000 sq ft B&Q store, located beside Costa Coffee and B&M, offers more than 12,000 products, including a timber cutting service, Valspar paint mixing station and a garden centre with outdoor plants and gardening equipment.

Costa has launched a 2,800 sq ft café serving its full range of drinks and food-to-go items. The addition strengthens the chain’s presence within Merry Hill, where annual café spend is expected to exceed £5m.

Meanwhile, Bensons for Beds has opened an 8,000 sq ft showroom built around its “Sleep Wellness” concept, showcasing the retailer’s latest ranges of beds, furniture and bedding.

Nick Round, senior asset manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, on behalf of Merry Hill, said: “Merry Hill has now completed the leasing of its retail park, bringing a comprehensive collection of brands that our community want to see in that unique retail environment. The retail park is an important part of the destination, providing even greater choice and experiences for our community, and these latest openings ensure we are aligned with their needs.”

B&Q divisional director for central, Justin Willis, added: “We are really happy to have opened our new store at Merry Hill, bringing our extensive range of B&Q and TradePoint home improvement products and services to our new customers and giving them more choice and convenience.”

The latest openings follow nearly 79,000 sq ft of new signings and reinvestments announced earlier this year at the lower retail park, including Costa and Bensons for Beds, along with lease renewals from B&M Bargains and Matalan. The programme of activity has resulted in the site becoming fully let and trading within a year of refurbishment.
