Poundland has today (28 May) launched its brand new £3 meal deal with sandwiches, salads and snacks.

The new ranges raise the bar as Poundland introduces new options from high quality companies that already supply other multiple retailers such as M&S.

What sets Poundland’s offer apart is that the price is not dependent on the need for a loyalty card.

The price of a lunchtime meal deal at other retailers can be dependent on whether a customer holds that retailer’s loyalty card.

A meal deal in certain M&S travel hub stores costs £6 and £5 in Waitrose. Even in Tesco, its Meal Deal offer of £3.40 is dependent on being a Clubcard member.

Poundland meal deal, launching under the new brand name “Grab A Bite”, includes a selection of items such as chicken tikka wrap, cheese and pickle sandwich, sushi packs, crisps, and a prawn pasta salad among others.

The ranges have been developed in partnership with Greencore and On A Roll, a new fresh sandwich supplier from the North East of England.

To celebrate the launch, Poundland will be putting up Blue Plaques outside 20 of its “best-performing” lunchtime stores, promoting the fact that it offers Britain’s cheapest meal deal.

The first of the plaques will be placed at stores in Deal, Kent, close to Sandwich, as well as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Walsall, and Wembley.

Kyle Storey, head of chilled and frozen, said: “Our mission here at Poundland has always been to provide our customers with the best possible value, without compromising on taste or quality.

“With our new meal deal, we’re not only offering an unbeatable price, but also ensuring that everyone can access a delicious and satisfying meal without the need for a plastic loyalty card.”
