Selfridges has officially launched ‘Worn Again’, a season dedicated to secondhand shopping, swapping, repairing, upcycling and trading with the ‘Reselfridges’ products and services on 20 April.

Instead of the retailer’s typical offerings, Worn Again’s creative scheme aims to explore different ways to keep products in circulation for longer by dialling up “the pleasure, reciprocity and fun” of shopping, as well as the desirability of secondhand and circular products.

The launch is due to Selfridge’s ambition to make 45% of its transactions come from circular products and services by 2030 through Reselfridges, its resale, rental, repair, refill and recycle ecosystem.

Customers can participate in ‘Worn Again’ via a mix of experimental circular destinations, products, services and experiences in Selfridges London, Manchester and Birmingham stores and at Selfridges.com.

These include an exclusive Marine Serre atelier concept, secondhand fashion and lifestyle destination ‘The Edit by Reselfridges’, a new sub brand from Coach focused on circular craft, a Swap Shop series, Made to Order rethought as Made In Selfridges, a charity Car Boot Sale, an outdoor furniture fair, and a reimagined Stock Market in the Corner Shop, where items can be valued, traded, repaired or upcycled.

Permanent new Reselfridges additions also include subscription and ‘Rent to Buy’ services.

According to Selfridges, this season imagines what the near future of shopping will look like and is an invitation to customers to “explore Reselfridges at scale, with the most buzz-worthy retail experiences” that are taking place from April to August this year.
