Lookfantastic launches same-day delivery with Uber Eats

On this episode of Talking Shop I am joined by Zipline CEO and co-founder Melissa Wong. We discuss how Melissa’s 10 years’ of frontline experience informed her approach to building a SaaS company, the recurring operational frustrations that most head offices still underestimate, and why she believes technology should be designed with the store associate as the primary user. We also explore current trends in store execution and how retailers can bridge the gap between corporate strategy and the shop floor.

Online beauty retailer Lookfantastic has launched a same-day delivery partnership with Uber Eats, allowing customers in selected London postcodes to order a limited range of products for delivery in as little as one hour.

The service, which went live this December, marks the first time Lookfantastic has made its products available through a rapid-delivery platform. Orders are placed via the Uber Eats app and fulfilled locally, with availability timed to coincide with the peak festive shopping period.

The retailer said the move was aimed at customers seeking last-minute gifts and essentials as traditional delivery networks face pressure in the run-up to Christmas. The partnership is designed to provide delivery options up to and including Christmas Day in areas where the service operates.

The initial product range includes a curated selection of beauty, fragrance and home scenting items, with brands such as Gucci, Tom Ford, Carolina Herrera, The White Company and Neom included in the launch assortment.

Keely Gough, managing director at Lookfantastic, said: “This partnership allows us to meet our customers exactly where they are, delivering iconic beauty and luxury gifting in record time.”

Katie Hunter, general manager of Uber Eats UK, added: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Lookfantastic to bring customers what they need, when and where they need it.”

The partnership is initially limited to selected London postcodes, with no announcement yet on whether the service will be expanded to other UK cities after the festive period.
