Boots to recruit more than 6,000 seasonal staff ahead of Christmas

Boots is hiring over 6,000 temporary staff across the UK to help meet demand during the Christmas period.

The retailer said roles are available in stores, warehouses and customer service operations, with flexible and part-time positions offered. 

Recruitment includes around 4,000 Christmas customer advisors to support in-store shoppers, 1,000 customer operations assistants to help fulfil online orders and assist store teams, 1,600 warehouse and distribution roles at the company’s Beeston and Burton-on-Trent centres and 350 positions in its customer support centre. 

The company said that the recruitment drive reflects the range of ways customers now shop, including online and through delivery partners such as Uber Eats and Deliveroo.

Seasonal employees will have access to Boots’ standard staff benefits, including discounts and health-related schemes such as free flu jabs, eye tests and reduced-price glasses.

Boots said the recruitment drive is open to applicants of all ages and backgrounds, with programmes in partnership with The King’s Trust aimed at helping young people gain work experience through its “Get into Retail” and “Get into Distribution” initiatives.
