Uniqlo has officially opened its largest Scottish store at the St Enoch Centre in Glasgow

Spread across two floors on Argyle Street, the new store is the Japanese fashion retailer’s second Scottish outlet following the opening of its Princes Street store in Edinburgh last year. It is the 23rd site for the brand in the UK overall.

The St Enoch store covers about 1,100 sqm and offers Uniqlo’s full LifeWear clothing range for women, men, children and babies. It also includes a RE.Uniqlo Studio, which provides clothing repairs, alterations and upcycling services.

The company has launched a number of local collaborations to mark the opening, including tote bags and scarves designed with Tunnock’s, and artwork of the city created by mural group Cobalt Collective. Charitable partnerships have also been announced with Social Bite and the Govanhill Baths Community Trust.

The retailer said the store aims to contribute to the “regeneration” of Glasgow’s city centre retail scene.

Alessandro Dudech, chief operating officer at Uniqlo UK, said: “We are excited to open our new store on Argyle Street, one of Scotland’s most iconic and historic shopping destinations.

“Perfectly positioned in the heart of Glasgow’s thriving retail scene, this location offers the ideal setting to showcase our LifeWear to a diverse and dynamic community of shoppers.”

He added: “It also gives us a fantastic opportunity to champion local partners as part of this opening, collaborating with creatives and organisations that reflect the spirit and energy of the city.”
