Asda has announced the appointment of Charlotte Rhodes as vice president, own brand, effective from early December.

Rhodes brings over 20 years of retail experience to Asda, including a decade at Coles in Australia, where she held senior roles in category management and brand transformation.

Prior to her time in Australia, she was business unit director for fresh food at Sainsbury’s, where she led strategic initiatives across fresh categories.

Rachel Eyre, chief customer officer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to Asda. Her deep expertise in brand development will be important as we strengthen our own-brand ranges to ensure they continue to deliver the quality and value that our customers expect.”

It comes as the supermarket has revealed that it has created its first ever charity TikTok Shop for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, selling a discounted bundle of pink products.

Customers will be able to purchase the bundle from Monday 29 September before the individual products land in store or online. The bundle features nine products for £7.17 – a figure representing the 1 in 7 women across the UK who will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

All proceeds from the sales of the exclusive TikTok Shop bundle will go straight to Asda’s Tickled Pink charity partners, Breast Cancer Now and CoppaFeel!.

Emma Betts, national charity partnerships manager said: “We are proud to have so many of our suppliers supporting this year’s Tickled Pink campaign and turning their iconic brands pink.

“It’s set to be one of our biggest ever years with over 200 products available both in stores and online, giving customers the opportunity to donate by purchasing everyday household products and clothing items. This is an exciting year as we launch a first ever charity TikTok shop for Tickled Pink but also, it’s a celebration of raising over £100 million over the last 29 years.”
