On this episode of Talking Shop, we're joined by Dan Cate, CEO and Founder of SoldThrough. Dan is a heavyweight retail executive who has spent decades steering the merchandising and digital operations of America’s most iconic retail institutions, from Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s to Century 21 and Lord & Taylor. Today, through his platform SoldThrough, Dan helps international fashion brands cross the Atlantic and crack the notoriously brutal U.S. retail landscape. We break down his journey from the shop floor to the C-suite, the operational indicators that prove a brand is truly ready for international expansion, and how to navigate a fragmented American market without destroying your margins. We also discuss how to balance localised inventory with central efficiency, and the one non-negotiable metric that tells you a product has found genuine market fit.

Intimissimi UK has reopened its physical store near Bond Street underground station following a refurbishment.

The lingerie store is located in the same central location, but with a “much-improved” look and product offering than before.

Mirroring the Intimissimi flagship store, which is located next to the Oxford Circus roundabout, the store near Bond Street underground station has been upgraded to include a wide selections of menswear fashion and undergarment products via Intimissimi Uomo – Intimissimi and Calzedonia sister brand.

The new store is now split between three floors, where in addition to Intimissimi Uomo, customers can also find a refuge from the busy shopping street in the newly-added lounge area, which features a Prosecco bar.

According to the retailer, shoppers can expect “the same luxurious setting, characterised by elegance and femininity, with the addition of the romantic boiserie to the store’s architecture, all powered by the same first in class customer service and attention to detail”.
