Bargain retailer Costco is reportedly set to open 14 new stores across the UK, according to The Sun.

The outlet revealed that the expansion plans are aiming to be completed in just two years but could take longer depending on how easily the company manages to acquire sites.

The company is working with property development company Chase Commercial to find and convert the new sites, but all the purchases will be self-funded.

Costco is looking to acquire warehouses in a number of locations across the UK for the expansion.

These locations include; Chelmsford, Colchester, Exeter, Oxford, Cambridge, Maidstone, Brighton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth / Poole, Preston, South Glasgow, South East London, Wolverhampton / North West Birmingham and South West Birmingham.

Alongside these plans the company is also set to open a new site in Gloucester after it acquired a major site in Eastern Avenue, just off the M5 last month.

Costco currently has 29 stores across the UK and the planned expansion would take it up to 44 stores.
