Homebase returns to Bradford with new store set to open

On this episode of Talking Shop I am joined by Zipline CEO and co-founder Melissa Wong. We discuss how Melissa’s 10 years’ of frontline experience informed her approach to building a SaaS company, the recurring operational frustrations that most head offices still underestimate, and why she believes technology should be designed with the store associate as the primary user. We also explore current trends in store execution and how retailers can bridge the gap between corporate strategy and the shop floor.

Homebase has announced its return to Bradford with a new store set to open at Enterprise 5 Retail Park later this year.

The 34,500 sq ft store and 10,000 sq ft garden centre will feature home and garden products alongside paint and wallpaper as well as home furniture and accessories.

Also on display will be kitchens and bathroom products with a free design consultation using 3D visualisation software available in the showroom and bathstore.

This new store marks Homebase’s return to Bradford, having previously had a store on Harrogate Road, which closed in 2018. It also follows the opening of its Cheltenham and Abingdon stores earlier this year.

Grant Anderson, retail director, Homebase, said: “I’m really proud that we’re returning to Bradford and we’re looking forward to being able to help the local community transform their homes and gardens once again.

“We know our customers are often inspired by what they see online, and when they visit our new store, they’ll find everything they need to bring these ideas to life. That’s where our brilliant store team will come in, to help our customers give it a go with all the products and advice they need to get the job done.”
