Hammerson confirms board reshuffle

Mike Butterworth will take over from Pierre Bouchut as chair of the audit committee upon completion of the group’s AGM

Shopping centre operator Hammerson has announced a number of changes to the composition of its board members.

Pierre Bouchut, non-executive director and chair of the audit committee has revealed that he will not be standing for re-election at the 2021 annual general meeting (AGM).

In turn, Mike Butterworth will take Bouchut’s place as chair of the audit committee upon completion of the AGM.

Moreover, Hammerson has announced the appointment of Habib Annous as a non-executive director at the group.

Commencing his role on 5 May 2021, Annous will act as a member of the audit nomination and remuneration committees.

A partner at Capital Group since 2002, Annous will provide the position with a total of 30 years of investment management experience.

Robert Noel, chair of the board at Hammerson, said that he was “pleased to welcome Habib to the board”.

He added: “He has extensive investment experience across a range of sectors, which will complement and enhance the existing skills we have at board level and bring a valuable and fresh perspective.  

“I would also like to thank Pierre on behalf of all the board for his service over the last six years, and particularly for his commitment over the last 12 months, and we wish him well.”
